From a painting by Gavin Penn, inspired by travels in Rajasthan area of India. I was struck by this man’s amazing gold turban and his dark piercing eyes. I chose to paint him looking straight forward, his head almost filling the canvas. I used a dark blue background to bring out the gold and compliment his dark eyes.
