Coast as inspiration 2
We Persuade
It was a busy day in the gallery, but I found time to add to the Record Cover Art collection. This was a nice trip down memory lane. After work I decided to walk along the coast from Craster to the epic Dunstanburgh castle. This is a UK favourite walk and usually very busy. By early evening on a grey day, with soft blue grey clouds over the sea, the crowds had gone and it was peaceful.
The lyrics of “We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal” have sea related themes, such as “Waiting for the Lutine Bell and the stories that it tells”. Many times during this collaboration with Gaz Cobain of The Amorphous Androgynous I would take a stroll along the coast, often while listening to an iteration of the music and getting inspiration from looking out to horizon.
It was nice to see the lifeboat leaving Craster Harbour on a training trip. These are the waters made famous by Grace Darling and her bravery, in a different sort of lifeboat.
